# Fluid.kdtree fit hangs above 500k points?

Hah. I put the patch to run and made the post, and in that time it managed to fit. I guess it’s a nice chunky boi once you start getting that big.

Has some pretty big implications in terms of real-time usage though ([as per this thread](https://discourse.flucoma.org/t/the-need-for-speed-fluid-dataset-fluid-datasetquery/673/8)).
