In most of my use cases I use a kind of hybrid between the two (as outlined in this thread).
So I do get a kind of offset, but it’s super super fast, corresponding to the “offset of the transient”, rather than the “offset of the note”.
I think that will require a different process for determining whether the note is still happening, then a kind of reverse-ampslice/ampgate for the quick “offset” itself.
