Convert mel band to freq

How would one convert mel bands to frequencies?

I understand the functions for getting in and out of the mel scale but am unsure how to pinpoint where each band is going to be in the calculation of fluid.melbands~. If I ask for 80 bands, are they equally spaced between the min/max frequencies I specify and then converted to the mel scale?

The formula is in the help patch, in the vocoder example of the real-time version. Let me know if you cannot find it and I’ll extract it. You also have there the inverse formula to get from Hz to Mel
