I’ve recently made this new freebie M4L device called OnsetPitch Detector using fluid.pitch~ and fluid.onsetslice~: it essentially outputs detected onsets in the form of instantaneously detected midi notes.
There’s also a related device here, for merging these incoming realtime detected notes with the rhythm of fired MIDI clips.

Amazing patch. I’m using it with two tracks with the same source, one for the “harmonics” the other for the “percussive”, and obviously two tracks for MIDI and two tracks for Audio sources.
