It kind of is a video game… wish I could share a video here.
A Mosaïque Server can also navigate the corpora in X, Y, Z coordinates ( or in 2D!) using simple mappable dials. You can also navigate using descriptors. A sampler to play back the sounds (with transposition and AD enveloppe) completes the chain.
We also have players that connects to the server in order to share a corpora. We currently have three players : Mosaïque Basic~, Mosaïque Morph~, Mosaïque Grain~. The devices allows you to navigate a corpora (in part or in whole) and playback the sounds through different methods.
We’re currently in beta. We hope to have feedback, so please do try it. Tutorials and documentation is on the way. I can do Mosaïque zoom sessions if anyone is interested.
Congratulations! I look forward to play with it and see how people will use it!
you can share an embedded youtube link:)
I wish I had Ableton installed just for that… I’m have to FOMO in silence. @MattS6464 and @albert will definitely like that… and I wonder how you solved the M4L problems in the end, I hope you’ll share the wisdom here@DominicThibault … pretty please?
Congrats again to all the team - I might not be able to use it in Live but I’ll definitely check it out in Max.
Unless it’s doing something special with the Max API you can just run `.axmds in Max as native objects (just drag-drop them onto a patcher). Most of my dsp blocks are M4L devices just to make reuse/enable/disable easier inside Max.
We’re at a state where we ask people to install Flucoma separately. Apparently @jamesbradbury found a bug with someone at Cycling74. It’ll eventually trickle down into our Max distribution…
We also distribute the Max project in our GitHub releases. However, you will not be able to use the Server-Client architecture yet. That’ll come.
Beautiful work, Dominic! I would also perhaps be down for a 1-on-1 session if you are available
Have you had the chance to compare the results of your device with the already existing IRCAM synth that does concatenative synthesis too (Skatart if i’m not mistaken)? Just wondering how different the results are, sonically
ok I used the ‘server’ M4L device within Max and it is LOADS of fun! I get the 3D to spin while I play and that makes cool loops, for instance. I love it.
Congratulations for the good work. The website announces tutorials and demos, I look forward to see how this will grow.
Dear all,
I’m joining the interesting thread (a bit late )
This looks amazing. I see how your work could inspire my 3D workflow from 2-3 years ago, which is only slowly progressing.
Hope to join your workshop / brainstorming / whatever session.
