I hope this is a convenient place where to post this but I
noticed pd’s html documentation for fluid.dataset was
lacking the “refer” message.

I moved it to bugs, but yes, here or github if you have an account. in all cases, it is definitely an omission - and I’m surprised the Max people have not moaned either as it is missing both in their helpfile and the (same source) reference 
sorted now on pd and max thanks to @weefuzzy’s magic!
